Orphans Enjoy Day Out At City Farm

SIXTY children from Rumah Anak Yatim Sungai Kantan, Kajang got up close and personal with the animals at the Farm in the City petting zoo in Seri Kembangan. For most of the children, it was their first interaction with the animals – from feeding a tortoise fresh vegetables to spending time with colourful birds in the aviary.

Organised by McDonald’s Malaysia and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), “Sentuhan Kasih” is part of the fast food chain and RMHC’s community engagement efforts involving volunteers from both organisations. “It gives us much joy to spend the day with these children and see the smiles on their faces.

“McDonald’s Malaysia strongly believes in the positive impact that RMHC has on children in need, through various programmes,” said McDonald’s Malaysia managing director and operating partner as well as RMHC Malaysia president Azmir Jaafar.

“McDonald’s is proud to contribute to RMHC’s work. We remain committed to supporting the organisation as we in turn give back to the communities where we live, work and play,” added Azmir. Accompanied by 30 McDonald’s Malaysia volunteers and RMHC members, the children were also treated to a shopping trip for baju Raya at Aeon Equine Park and lunch at a nearby McDonald’s restaurant. To top it off, the children’s home also received a contribution of RM5,000 from RMHC Malaysia.
