The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia has partnered with many educational centres for special needs children in developing the Ronald McDonald Sensory Room. The Ronald McDonald Sensory Room is designed for children with special needs and learning disabilities to develop cognitive skills and build self-confidence.
The benefiting effects of the room which is fitted with multi-sensory equipment is to stimulate the primary senses of sight, sound, touch and smell, in an atmosphere of trust, relaxation and fun so as to maximise the children’s response.
RMHC Malaysia has embarked on a mission to establish Ronald McDonald Sensory Rooms throughout Malaysia. To date, RMHC has established Ronald McDonald Sensory Rooms throughout Malaysia and currently there are 35 such facility. Since 1999, we have channeled more than RM3.3 million towards this program and more than 7,000 children have benefited from it.
